A Case for RSS - It's Open
For news junkies, having a desktop application that screens and aggregates the day's news for you is a must. Before RSS feeds and readers came along, you'd have to download and install a proprietary app from a single news source such as MSNBC's NewsAlert or the Guardian's NewsPoint. Of course, both are Windows only. So for Mac users, it's just too bad. RSS is platform agnostic and works for everyone with a desktop computer, mobile phone or PDA.
